Be careful!!! There are two editions of this album. One with the red cover. One with a black cover. Same stuff.... but I now own both! By the way... They're both amazing!!! LOL!!!
Crunch Pod proudly presents “Dread of Being”, the new album from the Death Industrial / Dark Ambient project INFELIX. A heavily darkened, disturbingly ominous and mercilessly dense journey into depths rarely explored in today’s dark electronic music landscape. Filled to the ends with distorted howling vocals, corrosive tortured mechanical percussion, desolate haunted synths slammed against blown out walls of menacing atmospheres.
Founded in 1999, Infelix is the solo project of producer JM Stevens (Lapsed/GotoG/Serpents of the Rainbow). Stevens’ primary focus on “Dread of Being” was a reaction to the overproduced industrial music of the last couple decades combined with his fascination with the textures and atmosphere of metal (specifically lo-fi ambient black metal, funeral doom, and death). Intended to bring some lo-fi, filth, and misery back into his vision of industrial music. No dance clubs, no scene bullshit, no trve/kvlt, no trends, no fun, no hope, just a wall of sinister sound. Heavily influenced by the works of Cioran, Schopenhauer, Thacker, Ligotti, Lovecraft, Dive/The Klinik, Cold Meat Industries, Pain Station, Velvet Cacoon, Xasthur, early works of Synapscape, P.A.L., and Swans to name a few. As INFELIX’s philosophy states, “Consciousness was an evolutionary mistake”, one should take note that this is not your everyday musical endeavor, and certainly not for the faint of heart. “Dread of Being” will be available through Crunch Pod on the Full Harvest Moon, September 20th, 2021.
INFELIX just continues to impress and plunge even deeper into the darkest shadows of the human soul. There really is no other band out there quite like them. vikingfan01
